We've had one way of making wine since that first vintage, 1997: keep it small, keep it simple and keep it focused. In our first vintage we produced about 150 cases total; and we leveled out at 3500 cases a few years ago. We've limited ourselves to a quantity we can watch over, in the vineyard and the cellar. By working with selected, dedicated grape growers and employing methods that we believe craft superior wine, we hope to create wines of individual character, a blend of richness, balance and pleasure. Our winemaking focuses on the purity of the individual varieties and the vineyards they come from. We do those things that a small winery has the luxury of doing: we know every barrel.

Concentrated and effusively complex, this wine boasts cassis, blueberry, pencil lead and garrigue that linger on the palate. A satisfyingly rigid structure is supported by a pleasant, balanced generosity of fruit. This Bordeaux blend is always good for long-term cellaring. Read More

Cabernet Sauvignon is often blended. This changes - and some would say completes - its distinctive profile. To showcase this iconic black grape, I wanted to pluck out varietal Cabernets. However, I most wanted to spotlight wines from Washington and some of my favorites there are Cabernet-dominated blends. So, I’ve chosen some of both. While no lo... Read More

Cayuse, Quilceda Creek, Leonetti all occupy the top 3 spots, followed by a few mid tier standards like Betz, Reynvaan, Maison Bleue, Grammercy. Well, I should say I'm just starting to get to know these names and also starting to buy ... Read More
