For over 140 years, Best’s has continuously been producing wine in the Great Western wine region of Victoria. We are one of Australia’s oldest continuously family owned and operated wineries and have some of the oldest vines in Australia, producing extraordinary wines with great longevity. Our flagship wine, Thomson Family Shiraz has been recognised as 'Outstanding' by Australia’s leading wine auction house Langton’s. Only two families have owned Best’s since it was founded: Wines were first made by the Best family in 1866 and then we bought it from the Best Family in 1920. The fifth generation of Thomson is now running the winery. We strive to make great wines with a strong sense of history and place. Our wines are elegant, refined and a great accompaniment to food.

Initial aromas that are floral, quickly followed by smells of peach, apricots, pears, and subtle grape sweetness. Flavors follow suit nicely with robust sweetness that doesn't overpower the palate and is clean on the finish, yet overall this is crea... Read More

  • Best's Wines Victoria Shiraz 1999

This is a very nice Shiraz almost on the Port side of tastes. When I found this wine I should have bought a few cases of it, thats how much I liked it. The flavor changed condsiderably in 2000 so thats why I prefered the 1999 vintage. Read More
