Benessere” is the Italian word for well being and prosperity. This is the feeling we try to embody at Benessere Winery. We are a small family owned, high end producer of Italian varietals, located in the north end of Napa Valley on the valley floor where the soil is well suited for growing excellent wine. We have expanded our selection of varietals to include Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah and Muscat di Canelli. We also produce an outstanding blend called Phenomenon. – Description from Alejandro

  • Wine myths are often unspoken but incredibly pervasive. Their looming presence may prevent wine novices from feeling confident about how they drink. Most would agree that wine experiences are best enjoyed with friends, but myths can hinder otherwise joyous wine drinking occasions. “Sparkling wine MUST be enjoyed in a flute glass, or else!” “Wine... • After last week’s look at value-oriented Zinfandel, I was pretty excited to jump into and taste some higher end wines. I love Zinfandel’s many iterations. From the Claret styles of yore to the fruit bombs that have made bold headlines and big points over the past decade, there is a great variety of styles well suited to many cuisines. Of course,... Purchased this from Wine Garage in Calistoga, CA.... Earthy, slightly toasty nose, deep red wild strawberry fruit notes... lighter tannins, a warm spice...almost slight cinnamon tempered with ginger. The big strawberry fruit stays through the taste. There is some oak here as well, hence that nose. I personally like this wine, but some Italia... Read More

Firm, slightly candied black cherry fruit greets the nose followed by liquory strawberry fruit, strawberry seeds, damp cigar and low herbal notes, with hints of cocoa, nutmeg and crystallized flowers. Very polished in the mouth, this starts out with some graham cracker and marshmallow notes that lead to a mid-palate full of wild strawberry and c... Read More

  • Take the drive to Big Tree Lane, north of St. Helena, and follow the road to the sunny yellow winery. Great people, phenomenal wines and super views. Get up close and personal with the vineyards. Be sure to ask for Eric or Barbara on the weekends - and they ship your wines for you!
