Bedrock is an itsy-bitsy winery making wine in a converted chicken coop. Fruit from only the most excellent vineyard sites is hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts, and are manually basket pressed by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson into the sexiest oak from the coldest French forests. – Description from Alejandro

  • Bedrock Wine Company Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Contra Costa County Red Wine 2013

    Snoothrank:

The purple color is more red than blue. Pleasant enough fruity nose with, maybe, a hint of anise. Fruitier than I normally like on entryblueberry, prunea little too much sweetness for me. This is followed by some drying tannin. This wine needs acid to balance the fruitiness. Aftertaste is pleasant and lengthywhich, to me, shows the folly of... Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Ode To Lucien 2013

    Snoothrank:

Very nice purple color. Not a big fruity nosemore vegetative, although that is really not the word. Think hay bales. Thats it as much as anything. As suspected, light on the fruit on entry. While light, I find it charmingblueberry, hint of currant. Medium-bodied wine. Light, but noticeable tannin. Tart acid. Read More

  • Bedrock Monte Rosso Zinfandel 2013

    Snoothrank:

Opened the 2013 Monte Rosso Zin this evening. Aromas of ripe black berries erupt from the glass along with a touch of tar and shoe polish. On the palate there's plenty more ripe dark fruit, blackberry, black pepper, black cherry, a touch of rhubarb, all balanced against some zingy acidity, medium grained tannins and a medium finish. Will be inte... Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Puccini Vineyard Sonoma Valley Zinfandel 2013

    Snoothrank:

Very pleasant floralvioletnose. Charming on the tonguenot big, or a jammy, or a brambly as many Zins are quickly described. Rather, this is a subtle wine with more delicacy that one usually finds in wines made from this grape. I do get some red berry fruit on the tip of the tongue, but it is a light touch. I find the tannin and the acid both... Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Cuvee Karatas Sonoma County 2012

    Snoothrank:

Pretty, clear yellow color. Somewhat fruity and floral nose. Similarly, fruity on the tonguegreen apple, kiwi. Sufficiently acid to make this a refreshing wine. Were having grilled trout for dinner tonight. I think a fruit-based side might make this wine sing. Read More

  • Bedrock Sonoma County Cuvee Karatas 2012

    Snoothrank:

Really nice white Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauv Blanc. This has a deep yellow color in the glass. There's a nice hit of butterscotch and caramel on the nose. In the mouth there is lush notes of ripe pear, honeysuckle, a bit of that butterscotch, nice acidity, a nice mouth coating affect and a medium finish. Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Limerick Lane Vineyard Zinfandel 2013

    Snoothrank:

Not a mainstream Zin. This example shows the wine-making flexibility of the grape. In the glass a lot of light passes through the garnet color. On the tongue there is a light hit of red fruitplumbut, also other stone fruitIm thinking apricot. A medium-bodied wine that has good tart acid, and is not terribly tannic. I suspect that this one i... Read More

  • Hi everyone.  This is my first post on the boards.  My wife and I are doing a long weekend in Healdsburg (Jan 15-17) and Yountville (Jan 17-19) over MLK weekend and were looking for some recommendations on wineries to visit.  We tend to like more full bodied red wines, but are open to other wines as well. We are from New York and want to focus o... Read More

  • Bedrock Hudson Vineyard South T 'N' S Block Syrah 2012

    Snoothrank:

Big nose of dark berries. Yup, on the tongue, strong blackberry, but without sweetness. So, while I detect fruit on introduction this is not a fruit bomb. Rustic earthiness tames the berries. Gripping tannin and acid. Some tannic bitterness on the back of the palate, but Im certainly not going to kick this one out of bed for eating crackers. Read More

  • Bedrock Compagni Portis White Sonoma 2014

    Snoothrank:

Very young and interesting white blend from Bedrock. This has a fair amount of floral perfume on the nose. Plenty of dry white peach, a somewhat oily texture, a touch of white pepper, decent acidity and a fairly long finish. Read More
