Bedrock is an itsy-bitsy winery making wine in a converted chicken coop. Fruit from only the most excellent vineyard sites is hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts, and are manually basket pressed by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson into the sexiest oak from the coldest French forests. – Description from Alejandro

  • Bedrock Monte Rosso Zinfandel 2013

Red fruit on the nose. On entry red raspberry and plumbut tart, not sweet. Interesting silky texturequite enjoyable. Quite subdued tannin. In fact, Im almost ready to describe this wine as elegant. I suppose it is something of a candidate for more bottle age, but I have to ask, Why wait. Read More

  • I killed off a Grenche Blanc/Marsanne from Random Wine Co while we munched on pita chips and mango salsa, then with our skirt steak tacos I popped a '16 Nouveau from Bedrock. The GB was very tasty with great florals and some tension on the palate. The nouveau was blah and plain. Cotton candy, sweet fruit, just kinda there in a semi-light carboni... Read More

  • Bedrock Alder Springs Syrah 2013

Oh, wow. A nice, light introduction of fruitblackberry, plum, maybe, even, pomegranate. Nice savoriness as the wine passes back. Noticeable, but very sedate tannin. Nice, lip-smacking acid gives it freshness. There will be no Day 2 report on this wine. ;-) Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Old Vine Zinfandel 2015

Spicy nose. It may be alcohol. Funk blows off very quickly. Light red fruit on entrystrawberry is noticeable. Tannin is noticeable, but not nearly as much as the Carlisle OVZ that I had last night. Not the biggest zin youll ever have, but an easy everyday drinker. Should go very nicely with the burgers that well be having, tonight. Read More

  • I'm of the mind that decanting is a good thing. Especially with aged wines. I've decanted young wines anywhere from an hour to up to seven hours just to see how the structure would differ. And I've done the side-by-side comparisons to justify my insanity. However, I do realize, as in with stemware, that this may be an extremely subjective topic.... Read More

  • Bedrock Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard 2012

A fairly sharp nose that makes me think tart fruit. Red fruit on entryplum, cherry. Surprisingly, at least for me, modest tannin. Good acidas my nose had forecasted. An interesting wine. I want to like it, and, I do, in fact like it. It just does not have that zinfandel rusticity that I enjoy. A Pinot Noir lovers Zin. Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Nervo Ranch Heritage 2013

Subdued nose of prunes, some earthiness. Very nice on the tip of the tongueagain light suggestion of prunes (with no suggestion of sugar). Some steeliness on the back of the palate. This is not particularly complex, but it is just a super, easy-to-drink wine. Read More
