Bedrock is an itsy-bitsy winery making wine in a converted chicken coop. Fruit from only the most excellent vineyard sites is hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts, and are manually basket pressed by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson into the sexiest oak from the coldest French forests. – Description from Alejandro

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Dolinsek Ranch Heritage Russian River Valley 2012

    Snoothrank:

Very bright garnet color. Lots of berry fruit on the nose. Nicely lean on entry to the palatesome red raspberry flavor but, definitely, not the jammy Zinfandel thing, here. Not terribly full-bodied. Towards the back there is some more fruitiness that makes you think sweet, but, then there is also some woodiness that quickly erases that. Ver... Read More

  • Abrente Sonoma Valley Godello 2013

    Snoothrank:

Very light sweet berry nose, but that does not at all predict the mouth sensation. Very tart, which, of course, makes it quite refreshing, but it could use more fruit flavor. There is some hint of tropical fruit and a dose of green apple, but that is, pretty much, it. Slight bitterness at the very back of the palate. Read More

  • Bedrock Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma County 2013

    Snoothrank:

Very fruity nose gives hits of melon, tropicalpineapplegreen apple, but, also, some grassiness. On the palate I get more of the same with tart acid and some slatey earthiness. Tartness, more than anything else, seems to linger in the aftertaste. A very refreshing wine. Great on a hot day such as today, the first or second or third day of au... Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. North Coast Syrah 2012

    Snoothrank:

Very much a cherry nose. Fairly fruitycherries, berries, stone fruit--on entry to the palate, but not over the top. Very tame tannin. Good refreshing acid. Would go good with grilled/roasted poultry, or, maybe a pork chop with some sort of fruit salsa. Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. the Bedrock Heritage 2012

    Snoothrank:

My 3rd place wine, the groups 8th Really powerfully scented with jammy fruit, a hint of orange peel, nuanced oaky spice and dark earthy notes on the nose. One is struck by how soft this is in the mouth. It really is low acid and while that is not my thing, this does delivery great earthy, chewy flavors that are savory, mineral and gamy along wit... • Bedrock Wine Co. Sodini Vineyard Zinfandel 2012

    Snoothrank:

My 6th place wine, the groups 7th Dark strawberry fruit greets the nose with darker berry accent notes and plenty of savory, slightly beefy complexity. There really is fabulous purity to the fruit here on the nose. Bright, round and intense in the mouth, theres a fine mineral streak to this on the palate along with plenty of bright, slightly jam... • Bedrock Zinfandel Old Vine 2012

    Snoothrank:

My 7th place wines and the groups tied for 2nd Fresh and spicy on the nose with hints of orange peel and sweet carob but not a lot of fruit and rather simple. Easy drinking in a round, supple style, this is rather full on the palate with plenty of very ripe cherry fruit. Theres nice depth and concentration to the fruit, and some engaging tannin ... • Bedrock Wine Co. Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard 2012

    Snoothrank:

My 2nd place wine and the groups 1st Theres some gentle cocoa and mocha on the nose but this is dominated by sweet raspberry and boysenberry fruit that is very fresh with lightly floral and smoky top notes. Medium light on the palate and with a touch of aggressive tannins early on the palate followed by pure, light and transparent red berry, ras... Read More
