"Beau lieu" - A Beautiful Story about a Beautiful Place In 1900, when Georges de Latour's wife, Fernande, first laid eyes on the land that would become their original Rutherford vineyard, she named it "beau lieu," or "beautiful place." He also began selling wine to the Catholic Church, establishing a strong relationship that would allow Beaulieu Vineyard to become the only Napa Valley winery to remain in business during Prohibition. • Bv Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2011

    Snoothrank:

What a disappointment. my mother picked up a bottle of this for me while visiting. I love her, but she has terrible taste. An over extracted mess of a wine, absolutely falling apart at the seams like a wet paper lunch bag. No mid palate, with an overwhelming bite at the back-end ruining all that fruit they had focused on in the first place. I st... Read More

  • Hi, I am an accidental wine enthusiast. As part of a major remodeling project including our family room I revived my interest and enjoyment of wine. Our family room was redone using dark hickory planking and the room has a short wall next to our fireplace. This wall has always presented a challenge to make use of the space. I researched and sear... Read More

So far my favs tend to be Italian chianti but I do really the Californian Beringer cabernets.
