Barren Ridge Vineyards
Located on the family’s former apple orchard, Barren Ridge Vineyards is now home to Augusta County’s Premier Winery. John and Shelby Higgs converted their vintage apple barn into a state-of-the-art winery, preserving the original structure and wood beams. The Tasting Room features delicately crafted wines that are available daily for tastings and complimentary tours.

We grabbed both their Viognier, which is supposed to be a knockout, as well as one of their red blends (called ""Trio") that's been gathering some attention.Anyone tried either of these? We were told that their '08 Viognier can compete with the '08 Barren Ridge... which I highly, highly doubt- but am open to compare.Flying Fox VineyardsThe frui... Read More
