For ten consecutive centuries, the property and the superior management of Brolio had always been maintained by the Ricasoli family, except for a brief period at the beginning of the seventies until 1993, in which the business was managed by outside companies. In 1993, Francesco Ricasoli took over control of his family's business and embarked on his project of the complete renovation of the entire estate. Large investments were made to restore the land and its original grape varieties (that have been in the estate for centuries) as well as for the winemaking facilities and cellars. The 500 acres of vineyards, all of which are located around the castle, have been completely replanted with two objectives: to reconstruct the personality of each vineyard according to ancient traditions and pursue the continuous role of producing excellent wine, which began in the 19th century, while incorporating a modern element. Today, the company is comprised of more than 2,400 acres, northeast of Siena, one of the Read more »

  • Barone Ricasoli Barone Ricasoli Albia Rose Toscano Chianti Italian Red Italy 2011

Fantastic and predictable Rose from the Ricasoli estate. That perfect Rose colour and a fantastic balance of sweet and sour. A little on the strong side for some people being 13.5% and while a refreshing glass is great under the Tuscan sun, should probably be appreciated with some light appetisers. Read More

  • Chianti del Barone DOCG Toscana Italia 2010

Our new arrival and privately imported, with a majority of Sangiovese grape. Ruby red in color, elegant nose of fruit, with shades of violet. A velvety palate and a nice balance. Goes beautifully with Penne all'arrabbiata. Read More

  • Chianti Classico Colledila' DOCG Barone Ricasoli Vini Rossi DOCG Chianti Classico Toscana Sangiovese 2007

100% Sangiovese grape varieties, with an intense ruby color. On the nose aromas of red fruits, hints of toast, and the strength and elegance of a vintage of Sangiovese. The flavor is so specific, intense and typical that it can not be mistaken for any other wine. In the mouth this is the ultimate expression of Sangiovese in Brolio. Sangiovese ex... Read More

  • Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Brolio 2009

This Chianti is a gorgeous rich garnet color when you pour. Luscious aromas of deep dark cherries and spicy rich coffee. The wine gives off a ripe sweetness that makes you ponder if it will have a similar taste. Well, no time like the present to check! An almost exact mimic of the aroma - sweet and exploding with overripe black cherries with... Read More

  • Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Riserva Castello di Brolio 2006

Massive bouquet of dark fruits, ripe currants, dark fruits, plums, Tuscan earth and truffles. Decant for 1 hour, on the palate, exuberant expressions singing fruits, berries, smoke, meats, oak, it's velvet structures and tannin not overt and forward, making this a easy likeable wine by many. Good long finish. Will improve in cellars for 5 years.... Read More
