We got our start as a "garage wine" back in the Sixties but really stepped up what Barefoot was about in 1986 when Michael Houlihan and partner Bonnie Harvey decided to relaunch the brand. The two of them, along with the first Barefooter, Randy Arnold, believed in making and selling wine that was both delicious and affordable and that could be enjoyed by everyone from first-time wine-consumers to hard-core aficionados. We believe that we can both promote our brand and satisfy our desire to make the world a better place by partnering with various non-profits and pouring at various fund-raising events. Over the years, Barefoot has been a part of thousands of non-profit events and our popularity has grown along with our support of these ground-breaking organizations. We took another big step in 2006 by becoming a sponsor of the Association of Volleyball Professions (AVP) Beach Volleyball supporting a grassroots sport that originated in our state-California. We’ve also teamed up with the Read more »

  • Barefoot Sweet Red 2012

Dry, tart and forgettable. Just as I was yawning, I had an epiphany to add some watermelon schnapps. There, I fixed it. Now the flavour somewhat resembles what the label suggests. Read More

  • Esteemed wine critics like Robert Parker and Antonio Galloni employ gender-positive terms in their tasting notes without compunction. Masculine wines are commonly associated with structure and power, while feminine wines can be perceived as delicate and thin. Speaking about a trip to the Bandol region in the Financial Times, wine writer Jancis R... Read More

  • Barefoot Pinot Grigio 2014

Crystal clear, and coloring that is grassy/yellow in tone. Aromas of apple, pear and clean citrus waft about and flavors follow suit.....crisp, clean fruit, refreshing soft acidity and a light, slightly carbonated mouthfeel makes this a simply excellent value Pinot Gris that is fully deserving of the consistent awards bestowed upon it! • Yes. I bought a bottle of Barefoot Cellars Pinot Grigio today. A friend has suggested it was the best wine under $10 so I was excited to try it with some cheese and appetizers this evening with some friends. When I opened the bottle, it was fizzing sort of like a sparkling wine. I thought, perhaps, it was the method that was signature to your ...

  • You recently changed your Reisling wine, WHY?? I had just discovered it. Now, it seems to have been replaced with a much sweeter wine that is nothing like the wine I have fallen in love with. I MISS MY REISLING!

  • Barefoot is consistently the worst wine you'll ever try. I've given it to friends as a "Dude, taste this" joke, and the most common reaction is to spit it immediately out in horror. I've known at least 30 people who've tried different varieties of the stuff, and not a single person had a positive remark.
