  • Principessa Gavia 2012

    Snoothrank:

Fairly simple straight forward Italian white. Hints of lemon are mixed with ripe pear and a touch of white pepper. This has medium acidity and a short to medium finish. Read More

  • It looks OK to me, MB.After a quick internet search I've learned that Walnut Crest is one of many Banfi labels.  Banfi WInes is a MAJOR Italian company that has worldwide holdings.  Walnut Crest wines come from Chile, and they would certainly work with a limited budget.  I wouldn't worry too much about any oaky Chardonnays.  As the father of the... • Banfi Chianti DOCG Superiore 2008

    Snoothrank:

Nice garnet color. A little plum on the nose. Not a real big bouquet though. A little cherry, some pepper and licorice on the palate. Well balanced but nothing that makes me go "wow". Dry and refreshing. Nose and palate of citrus. Citrus, of course, implies acid, but even with this I have a tough time trying to match a food with this. It just seems like a simple wine. For a food match the best I can suggest is raw seafood. I would say, though, that it is a refreshing quaff on a summer day in the back yard. $9.99 in April. Read More

  • Centine Bianco 2007

    Snoothrank:

A tasty blend of multitudes of flavors from a posh aerated septic tank. Hints of tampax with small snippets of Charmin, with just a spice of clorox. I love the velvelty finish, harkening back to old John. Read More
