Another example, Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol, WS 95, WA 86. I just had a glass and I give it 5 stars. Must have been a bad day for the Robert Parker reviewer.

Bastide Blanche Bandol 2007

I am known, and oft-mocked, for my love of borderline-faulty farmyard and sticking plaster qualities in reds. This one's for me: pure sticking plaster. Heavy tannins but enough fruit to balance. Fascinating.

Great Provencal style, bone dry rose as you'd expect from Bandol or perhaps Tavel. Nice crisp acidity, great nuances. Perfect for a hot summer day. -Tasted with winemaker 9/20/09.
