The company was founded in 1992 after the purchase by Nicoletta Bocca of a part of the San fereolo farmhouse and of the surrounding land. Yet in 1993, a collaboration with the Stralla family, owner of the most gifetd part of the vineyards of the read more...hill and resident on the premises from three generations was made and the first 3.000 bottles of this year were begun to be commercialized.

To this small beginning core of three hectares in the following years new lands were added. Often they were old vineyards that the owners do not mean to work any more and that would have beeen destined to be abandoned.
This way a fragmented estate is created, placed in various subzones, that allows to obtain wines that share different characters, but that maintains the principal core of the vineyard in Valdibà.

Since 1999 a program of new systems was put together with this old vineyards that should increase of other four hectares the vineyard of the company in the next years and that besides to increase the estate of barberas and dolcettos contemplates the installation of nebbiolos and varieties such as renanian riesling and gewurtztraminer for a future white Langhe.

Since 1995 San Fereolo agrees to the EEC Regulation 2078 for the reduction of the use of the plant protection products and for an agronomy based on a bigger attention to the self defences of the vineyards created by the respect for the natural balance.    (hide)
