A very traditional rendition of Brunello that shows a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers, wild berries and earth. It was like taking a deep breath in a spring garden. Wonderfully balanced and a great compliment to the Osso Bucco that accompanied it. It’s lively acidity carried flavors of sour fruit with hints of minerals and earth. Gorgeous.    (hide)

Read moreClassically leathery on the nose with just a background note of band-aid this is aromatically rich and powerful with a dense core of dark and smoky fruit. Big and bright on the attack with superb ripe tannins and great spicy, black currant, black berry fruit. Still a touch short on the finish as a brisk limestone earthiness clamps down. Lovely tannins though and the slightly liquory fruit is rich, balanced and powerful exhibiting classic sweet raspberry tones on the finish. Already drinking well this will add length and complexity with time and should be at it's best 2012-2020 90pts.    (hide)
