The cliffs of the Adige Valley change their appearance as the light shifts across them: awe inspiring when they are veiled by shade or darkened by a heavy sky; and enchanting when the sun shines on them, as they are tinted with delicate shades of pink. The river too changes its mood as the weather changes: when there is bad weather, its rough waters become a whirlpool of green and blue, while on calm evenings they become a sparkling silver ribbon. No one with a sensitive soul can cross this land without being touched by its beauty. After the narrow Salorno Gorge, visitors travelling from the north are welcomed by the marvellous sight of a wide valley. Vineyards and orchards are scattered among these rocky outcrops. Near San Michele all’Adige, on the right bank of the Adige River, a wide plain unfolds beneath the mountains: its name is Campo Rotaliano. This is where the Teroldego, one of the country’s best grapes, thrives. Despite its charm and beauty, this stretch of country is still waiting to be Read more »

Azienda Agricola Elisabetta Foradori on Snooth

  • Foradori Granato 2010

    Snoothrank:

Oily and smoky on the nose with lots lots of pipe tobacco and used pipe briar aromas. Rich, seamless, and powerful in the mouth. This shows lots of depth on the palate though some wood tannins do intrude on the midplane. Ultimately one finds more power, less detail here and the wine wraps up with a tough, tannic finish. Theres lots of red frui... Read More

  • Foradori Teroldego Morei 2012

    Snoothrank:

A bit of obvious VA on the nose adds lift and brilliance to the aromas of dried herb, raw nut meats, flowers and a bit of sour berry fruit. Riper tannins here than in the Sgarzon make for a somewhat denser and richer expression of Teroldego with bright wild blackberry, blueberry fruit filling the palate supported by lots of acid and soft tannins... • Foradori Teroldego Sgarzon 2012

    Snoothrank:

Stem, mineral, chalk, and tight aromas of astringent black fruit grace the nuanced nose here. In the mouth this is tight, but with obvious depth and power to the palate. The great acids leave the mouth a bit raw still today and provide for good length to the clean finish which is also by fine grained fruit tannins. Overall this is so very fresh ... Read More

  • Foradori Fontanasanta Nosiola 2012

    Snoothrank:

Mineral and spicy on the nose, this shows better precision and more freshness than the Manzoni Bianco. Entering with great power and focus, this fills the mouth with clean gorgeous expressions of white peach and crisp apple laden with mineral notes and subtle hazelnut accents. Finishing with a mouth cleansing and slightly bracing texture, this ... Read More

  • Foradori Manzoni Bianco Fontanasanta 2012

    Snoothrank:

A bit wild and gamy with a classic natural ferment nose that gains notes of heather honeycomb, and hot rocks with air. Theres a bit of tannin on entry, then this turns round with good size and weight in the mouth. offering up complex dried apricot, honeycomb and dried herb flavors, there is a slightly astringent note on the palate which plays w... • Foradori Teroldego Sgarzon 2010

    Snoothrank:

Rather rich and spicy on the nose with licorice, tar, hot iron, and floral nuances framing tobacco tinged blackberry and black cherry fruit that has a edge of black olive brine, sage, and prosciutto savoriness to it. Medium bodied, angular and with bright acidity on the palate, this is transparent and earthy on the palate with vividly bright fru... Read More
