  Thanks. I'm not familiar with that importer, but will look into it. I had my ... Brunello Riserva from La Colombina not long ago and it was fantastic. Seems like 2001 and 2004 are pretty safe plays for the northern Italian varietals, at least in my limited experience to date. Cheer

  La Colombina Brunello di Montalcino 1999

  Snoothrank: Starting at $59^.99

  Full red with an amber-tinged rim. Exotic, soil-inflected aromas of red berries, truffle, leather, mint and coffee, plus a whiff of coconutty oak. Sweet, broad and supple, but given shape by harmonious acids and sexy oak. One word repeated again and again over three hours: wow.

  La Colombina Brunello di Montalcino 1999

  Snoothrank:

  Excellent power, interesting to drink and to observe the changes that occured over the course of 2.5 hours, next time open 2 bottles to observe the change that occurs over 4 hours, firm tannins great finish, floral bouquet.
