  • Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Premiere Cru Clos St. Jacques 1996

    Snoothrank:

How nice was that? Served to my parents at a special family gathering. My mother loved it so much she demanded to know how much it cost, and, when I for once relented and told her, spat it back into the glass and said she wasn't worthy. She is, and so is the wine - fantastic... Read more

  • Carousel Blanc de Blancs Brut NV

    Snoothrank:

To me this wine had a somewhat coarse feeling mousse. On the nose I picked up some apple or pear type aromas. This wine seemed a little too sweet to be called a brut in my opinion. There are definitely worse sparkling wines out there, but I feel like there are also better to be... Read more

  • Armand Comte Pommard Clos des Epeneaux Premier Cru 1993

    Snoothrank:

Nice powdered light red fruit nose with a hint of darker fruit creeping in. But the palate is full of red fruit -- cranberries and a lot of acidity. It's very good but I would say it's slightly more acidic than I would like. Perhaps give it a few more years.

  • Armand Comte Pommard Clos des Epeneaux Premier Cru 1993

    Snoothrank:

From magnum. Candied fruit on the nose. The wine is lean and balanced with a lot of acidity tempered by nice black cherry notes.

  • Armand Comte Pommard Clos des Epeneaux Premier Cru 1993

    Snoothrank:

From magnum this was effusively perfumed with sweet baking spices, flowers and crushed juniper berries. there were deep notes of mint and black cherry fruit. This remains youthful in the mouth with a bit of unforgiving astringency but is deeply flavored and layered if a bit short.... Read more
