In 1998 we fulfilled a dream by founding Achaval-Ferrer based on two sound principles: the search for the highest quality in all of our products and respect for the terroir. We interpreted that Argentina's quality potential could be pushed to levels in line with the extreme personality of its soil, its plentiful sunshine and the rarity of its ancient ungrafted vineyards, almost an exclusivity in today's world of viticulture. We are now are glad to belong to this project and to share with you our passion for wine.

  • Achaval Ferrer Malbec Mendoza 2010

    Snoothrank:

Classic malbec with a nose of burnt matches and ink, then bright flavors with a touch of the acrid aromas continuing in the mouth and into the finish. A great choice for malbec purists, and excellent with strong cheeses. (AV 87, http://argovino.com/?p=461) Read More

  • Achaval Ferrer Malbec Mendoza 2010

    Snoothrank:

Had it on an Argentinian flight. It smells of dark fruits berries. The tannins was a tad too much for me and I did not like the woodiness it had. The earthy mineral taste was there but it was not bad. It is not exactly an easy wine. Read More

  • Achával-Ferrer Red Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Merlot Malbec 2009

    Snoothrank:

My buddy told me about this wine so I looked at the reviews, and bought a bottle to have with a steak dinner last night. This morning I went to reread all the external reviews, and I wonder how they got there. There is nothing special in this bottle. It is okay, but I don't think it is anything like the reviews. Maybe they are just living o... Read More

  • Achával-Ferrer Red Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Merlot Malbec 2008

    Snoothrank:

89 points. The nose is reminiscent of warm, buttered cinnamon rolls, with blueberry jam on the side. There is blackcurrant and black cherry at the core, with a subtle, smoky note, black pepper, and lots of stone. Despite the hard, dark center to this wines aroma, there also seems to be a very soft citrus flower tone on the edges.Sweet tones of ri... Read More
