Antucurá means “Sun Stone” and Calvulcura means “Blue Stone” in old Mapudungun language. Mapudungun (mapu means 'earth' and dungun means 'to speak') was the language used by the Pehunenches, the first inhabitants of the area where the Antucurá winery stands today in the Uco Valley in Argentina. The owners chose that name for their winery and vineyards because the grapes grow and develop naturally between the stones and rocks. The winery sits below the Andes Mountains using ancient viniculture traditions and new vinification technologies, to produce premium wines. – Description from mriskic

  • Antucura Malbec Vista Flores -Mendoza 2012

New to wines and just beginning to tell different varieties apart and direct my choices. My favorites so far are Malbec. I must confess that I still prefer French Cahors to Argentinian Malbecs, but this one is pretty good. I think it will improve after a couple of years and it seems a little young currently, but still very impressive. Read More

  • Antucura Malbec Vista Flores Antucura 2010

This is a wine to be reckoned with! The nose offers a more diffuse selection of aromas than most malbecs, ranging from green plum on the sharper side to broiled eggplant on the mustier side. It's a tad hot and rough in the mouth, with high alcohol, but the dark berry flavors are fulsome, intense, and long-lasting. (AV 89, Read More

  • Antucura Malbec Blend 2003

Purple color with red ruby around the rim. On the nose this wine is packed with Ripe strawberry, Rose Petal, Clove and vanilla with just a bit of forest floor funk that keeps it interesting. Flavors of black currant and cherries sing from the glass and with time turns to intense dark chocolate. Seems to be a bit of residual sugar. This is a ... Read More
