Anton Bauer on Snooth

A blend of zweigelt, blaufränkisch, cabernet, and merlot, this wine boldly declares its ambition... but I feel fails to measure up to a single varietal bottle of most zweigelt or blaufränkisch from the area.
A refreshingly dry Grüner Veltliner, perfect for a warm summer day or for cutting through a rich meal. Quite an interesting take on the varietal, since normally I think of these as quite sweet.

Man oh man...fantastic body, not too heavy, ripe with berry fruit in the nose, complex flavor on the tongue. Balanced is the best word I can come up with. Like many Austrian reds, this is hard to describe - fruity but...
