Verlieu-Chavanay is a small village 15 km south of Vienne and is the place where André Perret practises the art of wine-making. A young biololy graduate, his passion for the vine made him return to the village, where he succeeded his father in 1982. The farmland, then mainly occupied by fruit-trees, was planted with vine-stocks and extended to 10 hectares. Located on the right bank of the Rhône and enjoying the best climate of the appellation, the vine-covered hills produce the grapes for the « Côtes du Rhône » vintages.
