  • I´ve read a lot lately on biodynamic wines and how the position of the moon and other things can affect the vines growth or even the wine tasting, mostly on phylosophical grounds believing that "Biodynamics takes organic farming practices and wraps them as broader conception of the farm / the vineyard as a coherent organism, where inputs and out... • Pedroncelli Sangiovese Dry Creek Valley Alto Vineyards 2005

    Snoothrank:

Color me impressed. There's bunches of cherries and spice on the nose. Flavors are balanced, with creaminess and acidity. The cherry is joined with a hint of red berries, some licorice, tree bark and a clump of earth for good measure. Great value. Read More

  • Pedroncelli Sangiovese Dry Creek Valley Alto Vineyards 2005

    Snoothrank:

Interesting and bossy character. Goes down with a likeliness of lemongrass, spearmint, and black pepper. Forward with the black and blue berries. Read More

  • Pedroncelli Sangiovese Dry Creek Valley Alto Vineyards 2005

    Snoothrank:

Leathery and gritty on the nose. Chewy and spicy in the mouth with an acidity that really crept up on me. The finish is long and enjoyable but this feels like it sets off on a journey and never quite gets there. Read More

  • Pedroncelli Sangiovese Dry Creek Valley Alto Vineyards 2005

    Snoothrank:

A robust meaty nose of ethyls and animal flesh. Its rich, layered with licorice and baked fruits and has a slightly tart, but solid finish. There's a lot of raw minerality, and even some delicate violet notes after the power has died away. A real bargain for $12! Read More
