Alois Lageder produces four different groups of wines: Classic Wines, Single Vineyard Wines, Biodynamics and Estate Wines. Alois Lageder’s wines are directed to a quality-conscious public and are available only in better restaurants and specialist shops. Classic Wines include wines from the traditionally grown grapes of Alto Adige. Single variety white, rosé and red wines of high quality. Single Vineyard Wines make use of the grapes of selected, individual vineyards, separately vinified. The characteristic features of each particular place and exposure find resonant expression. The ‘beta delta’ wines are made from certified organic grapes from vineyards that are farmed according to biodynamic methods of viticulture (Greek: βios and δinamikòs). Estate Wines are the flagship wines of Alois Lageder. Grapes from exceptional locales and exposures are carefully selected according to rigorous standards. They mature in barriques of French oak into fine, complex wines. Their quantity is limited Read more »

  • Alois Lageder Lagrein Alto Adige Südtirol Lindenburg 2004

Wow this is an amazing wine: dark chocolate cherries, herbal and acidic notes, almost a rustic vegetal woodsiness that tingles the nose greatly. i love this medium bodied wine worth the money!!!! It makes me like Italy all over again! Read More

  • Alois Lageder Pinot Bianco Italy Veneto 2009

Typical of this variety, the nose is muted with some light lemon, peach and cake spice - inviting in a wine suited to warm summer evenings. On the palate, there is a clean, balanced, thirst-quenching purity though without any intervening complexity. Very reminiscent of a lighter style Chardonnay or a typical Canadian Pinot Blanc. A very good ... Read More

  • Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio Benefizium Porer 2008

This smells a bit earthy and woody on the nose, with a soft almond and honeycomb tone. A bit soft in the mouth at first, again with a touch of old wood up front, before the acids firm up the mid-palate. This is taut and bright with fairly rich, if gentle, fruit that is mineral-flecked with a creamy, moderately long finish. Nice hint of bitter sp... Read More

  • Alois Lageder Benefizium Porer Pinot Grigio Alto Adige Trentino 2008

For $18.34, this is a steal! This wine has great body, is super well-balanced. Good complexity from seeing a bit of wood, but very harmonious with the essence of mineral, floral, and mellow apple/pear. Read More

  • Alois Lageder Moscato Giallo Lago di Caldaro Vogelmaier 2007

First time trying a yellow muscat. Balanced and well-integrated. Nose of grass, stone, and perhaps fruit. An interesting blend of sour and bitter fruit - sweet grapefruit and peach with hint of "bitter citrus rind on thin sweet sourdough". Finishes with wood and nut. Slightly slick (glycerin). Body medium, acid medium or higher. Dry to of... Read More

  • Pinot Grigio is one of the world’s most popular white wines, yet ... a ... a roast goose. 90pts 2007 Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio  12.5% Dolomiti IGTThis is quite aromatic in a narrow range of herbal and citrus tones, with some apple tones and plenty of dusty minerality.
