  Bodegas Agustin Cubero Unus Syrah 2007

  Forrest floor, spice and herb, with blackberries, tobacco, raspberries, nice earthy-dirtiness that adds some depth. Smooth palate feel, but a little bit hot and light. For $10, I would buy it again for sure. Solid drink with a dinner.

On the nose- rich aromas of barnyard, bacon, horse and varnish, and flavors of black currant with a citrus edge, then emerging bursts of chalky violets and roasted peppers. Reminiscent of a Sicilian Nero D'Avola. Layered and complex and with a long finish, this one is BIG and RICH and a real bargain for something in the $12 range.    (hide)
