  Alterra Sonoma County Zinfandel 2005

  This is one of the best Zins I've had to drink in the past several years. David Coleman continues to show his wine making skills in this 2005. Will probably be good through 2013.

Read moreThis was a lovely wine - I need another bottle to be sure but this is what Zinfandel should be - this is made by Adler Fells which I loved (the pinot) until 2006 (2007 not so much, very disppointing, needs age or maybe just not so great) - but now, this Zin and the Pinot in 2005 by the name Alterra has renewed my faith - try and try again - decant for a while and you will be quite happy with both vintages!    (hide)

Read morethis is an Adler Fells wine which I used to love but have grown disappointed with in 2007 - this 2005 Grande reserve is really very good however - it is special and show it's true colors - suprised by it's solidness since the 2007 Adler Fells Pinot noir vintage was a bit disappointing. (I loved the 2006) The Adler Fells - Grande Reserve Caneros well....that is a different story and should be - it is really quite good for the price - be proud of this wine - a little more age (some decanting helps) and this is truly excellent    (hide)

  Douglas Oak Oakville Napa Valey Syrah Adler Fels Winery 2006

  Like the label says, Douglas Oak, there's definitely some oak flavor, but I love me the oak monster. It tastes of dark berries and has nice tannins on the back end. It's around the $10 mark in my area and it's really good for that price point. Trader Joe's is a great place to buy wine.
