  • Bodega del Abad Abad Dom Bueno Godello 2008

    Snoothrank:

2010 vintage. Fantastic nose of white peaches, pineapple, mango and lemon. But those tropical flavors get completely overpowered by the searing acidity on the palette. Searing! As if your mouth were a paper cut and you just poured lemon juice on it. Might be better with food and more of a chill. Read More

  • Abad Dom Bueno Roble 2006

    Snoothrank:

One of my favorite reds for over a year now. And I'm not a red lover so it has to be good. The hint of blueberry keeps bringing you back for more. Delicious! A real crowd pleaser. Read More

  • Bodega del Abad Godello Bierzo Abad Dom Bueno 2007

    Snoothrank:

Lush, mineral-y, grapefruity wine made from head-pruned old vines, some of which are 70-80 years old. This is a rare wine in Bierzo, with less than 1% of the vines under cultivation. An outstanding effort - using only native yeast - and the 2008 is even better. Read More

  • Mencía Bierzo Abad Dom Bueno 2005

    Snoothrank:

Aromatic nose of dusty black fruit like black cherry, blackberry, minerals, and a little grapyness. The palate shows a surprising amount of complexity with again a good mix of fruit, oak spice, and minerals. Dry, medium bodied, mouth coating tannins, showing great length and spice on the finish.Ranked #2 in Mencia's in the NY Times in the middl... Read More

  • Bodega del Abad Godello Bierzo Abad Dom Bueno 2007

    Snoothrank:

A very fresh tasting wine with no sulfites added (a big plus in white wines!!!). Medium yellow color. The nose is aromatic with white peach, nectarine, and honeysuckle. The palate has lots of flavors of stone fruit, almond skin, and ripe pears. This wine is dry, medium heavy bodied, with bright acidity, and a long finish. Read More
