Not much on the nose, but a sip pleasantly surprises. Very light and bright, minimal tannins, chocolate and cherry notes. A crowd pleasing, gentle intro to Zin!
An amazing value for this wine. For less than $10 (at BevMo) this Zin is a great find. It is what you would expect from a full bodied Zin at half the price. Fill up your cellar on this one. I am going back for another case!
Spices and plum on the nose. Even stronger plum flavors on the beginning and mid palate, very prune-like. Nice finish with spice box flavors. Great deal for under $10.
Purchased at BevMo, our bottle was specifically a Lodi Old Vine Zinf from Sonoma. Full flavored with blackberry tones and earthy, yet smooth & clean finish. Potent at 14,8% alc.
didn't love this one.
Nice and big. you can count on this vintage to do work.
Had some Zins in the go-go years when Wine.com was a little internet dealer and my wallet was fatter. Had some great mostly tiny label wines. Everything, since then, even when I have spent much more than I should has been disappointing. I like flavor out front, not a hint of same in the aftertaste. This one is right for my peasant palate that likes something you can remember after you have had lunch. This is an excellent wine at a very good price. Fruit, chocolate is what I get out of it, besides pleasure. Californians get a chance to buy it at under 10 dollars at BevMo. Seems to average 12 elsewhere.
