A real mouthful of smoky, tar-scented blackberry and licorice flavors - Great with spicy food

This is best described as an easy drinking pleasant wine. Nice amount of spice with a clean finish. I didn't find the wine to be powerful, rather a little subdued and medium in body.

Seriously powerful red, but it has so much rich flavour in the mouth - without being overly spicy. Very high quality wine at a bargain price.

Blend: 94% Shiraz, 6% Viognier The fruit is sourced from five hundred and twenty odd acres of vineyard at Langhorne Creek, one ofAustralia's oldest wine grape districts just South East of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, on thespectacular Fleurieu Peninsula. Last century, a group of old school mates founded the vineyards in the Langhorne Creek wine region,close to the original 19th-century plantings, in the traditional grape growing heart of the area. Plantedmainly to red grapes and beloved Shiraz, there are also some significant plantings of whites, including the pioneer read more...plantings of Viognier in the district. With more than 50 acres of the variety planted, it is quitepossibly the largest planting in the Southern Hemisphere. This wine is initially a fruit bomb, full of blackberries, juicy, soft and sweet. The full fruit flavors are married togetherwith some subtle blonde tobacco and fine grained mouth puckering tannin. Medium bodied and finelytuned with refreshingly zippy tannins balanced by fine soft cedary oak flavors on a rounded fruit palate.    (hide)
