Zolo is one of the signature wines produced by Fincas Patagonicas and Bodega Tapiz in Agrelo, Argentina. Fincas Patagonicas is considered one of the most technologically advanced wineries in the country. Zolo wines are produced as high quality single varietal releases that showcase regional grapes such as Malbec, Torrontes, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bonarda.
One of my favorite Torrontes. Full bodied, aromatic and reasonably prized.
A phenomenal wine. Rich yet soft, bright and crisp, yet supple. It is LOADED with lychee, which I really like and then has maybe a hint of tropical fruit in there too. If I had to point out to a fault, It may be fairly simple (The lychee) but on the whole it's one of my favorite whites. Especially for the price.
This jury is hung after the first Torrontes tasting. Maybe because of my expectations, it fell considerably short. However, I will have to have another go at this wine because this wine's popularity runs decidedly against my first impression.
Particularly complex nose for a wine in this price range. There's a ton of tropical fruit, pear, apple, banana, floral, and honey notes going on. It's really quite interesting to stick your nose in. In the mouth the wine is quite viscous and coats your mouth, but its not thick. There's a touch of sweetness to go with the good acidity and a lot of fruit tones. A bit too much ripe banana for me. Finish is a bit acidic.
Zolo is my go-to Torrontes, and the 2008 vintage doesn't disappoint. Zolo has the most complexity of any Torrontes I've tasted in this price range. Nicely balanced, and a great summer sipper!

Brilliant yellow color with marked green touches. The aromas are delicate and intense where tropical flowers and fruit are predominent. Fresh flavor, well balanced, and a long finish.
