Zolo Torrontés Famatina Valley 2008
This jury is hung after the first Torrontes tasting. Maybe because of my expectations, it fell considerably short. However, I will have to have another go at this wine because this wine's popularity runs decidedly against my first impression.Add winemaker's notes

Particularly complex nose for a wine in this price range. There's a ton of tropical fruit, pear, apple, banana, floral, and honey notes going on. It's really quite interesting to stick your nose in. In the mouth the wine is quite viscous and coats your mouth, but its not thick. There's a touch of sweetness to go with the good acidity and a lot of fruit tones. A bit too much ripe banana for me. Finish is a bit acidic.
Zolo is my go-to Torrontes, and the 2008 vintage doesn't disappoint. Zolo has the most complexity of any Torrontes I've tasted in this price range. Nicely balanced, and a great summer sipper!
pale lemon green color; lemon-lime citrus, tropical fruit, banana, melon, floral, honey suckle on the nose; on the lighter side of medium bodied, a touch of sweetness, fruit flavors nicely balanced with zippy, lingering acidity -- interesting, complex and would make a nice pairing a spicy dish. i like.
I was blown away by what a lovely wine this is and the money is right for such a kind bouquet.
