What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

As cool as a cucumber, Clos Hauserer's limestone-rich soils make it one ofOlivier's most minerally wines. The nose brims with chalky floral notes andlimey purity while the palate shows such linearity, such 'droiteur', with only15 grams/litre of residual sugar. Clos Häuserer is one of Olivier'sless well-known vineyards, lying in the shadow of Grand Cru Hengst nearTurckheim. Yet it's perhaps this very fact that has imbued the wine withan unassuming profile; something not lost on the locals, with whom it hasbecome a hit apparently.
