The annual cycle of work, parallel with cycle of nature, consists of a number of interventions, comprising biological treatments against the diseases and others aiming at improving the quality. mong the latter, the pruning is particularly decisive. Too severe, it prevents the harmonious development of the vine, insufficient, the vine will overproduce unripen grapes. A this moment, the presence of Paul’s grandson Pierre-Paul Humbrecht, is of utmost importance to the vineyard, to prune correctly and at the right time. Given unfavourable climatic conditions, the harvest may suffer but when the seasons flow normally the right pruning will be rewarded by a juice of very high quality. hen the vine has had its budburst, the disbudding (selection of branches) and desuckering (supression of the growths resulting from sucker from the trunk), are made manually to avoid any harmful effect to the vine. During the bloom, trimming consists in shortening the end of the branches leaving just the right quantity of good quality leafs that the young vine needs. During ripening, the stripping to improve the exposure of the grapes to the sun and thinning out the grapes in excess must be done with precision in order to obtain a harvest of great quality. orking the ground consists of several heavy duty work. Therersquo;s good vibrancy to the acidity in this dry, tangy version, with lots of grapefruit and citrus peel up front. Finishes with the floral and white pepper notes typical of the variety. Drink now through 2012.

This dry white shows precise balance, and despite being medium- to full-bodied, seems elegant overall. Tangy acidity enlivens the apple sauce, lychee and clementine flavors, and therersquo;s lots of smoke and white pepper on the finish. Delicious. Drink now through 2025.

This dry, tangy version offers a lot of the grape's signature rose petal and cream flavors, but is also infused with hints of curry spices and plenty of red grapefruit and candied orange peel. Bright acidity crackles through to the lingering, smoky finish. Drink now through 2019.

Pale medium-gold color. Expressive aromas of smoked meat, rose oil and cinnamon. Plump and spicy, with good ripe acidity and a chewy saline nuance. This is tactile and nicely concentrated, not to mention persistent, for a basic bottling.

Lovely varietal character from highly acclaimed biodynamic winery Zind-Humbrecht. Perfumed with honeysuckle, baking spice and stone fruits, with an exotic palate of lychee, almond, pear, peach and apple pie. Long, beautiful finish.

Aromatic, with rose and smoked meat elements, this is surprisingly dry, with white pepper, grapefruit and mineral notes. Balanced and firm on the finish, leaving a tingling sensation on the gums. Drink now through 2017.
