User Reviews for Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Alsace Aoc Heimbourg

Winemaker's Notes:

"A bright Pinot Gris, dry and tangy, with hints of green melon, apricot, star fruit, smoky mineral and fresh-cut flowers. There's good intensity, but it's wrapped in a well-integrated, silky package. The long finish shows lots of zesty spice and mineral...92" WS 10/11 "Harmoniously off-dry – at 20 grams residual sugar (at 13.5% alcohol) – Zind-Humbrecht’s 2009 Pinot Gris Heimbourg exhibits already a deep rose gold color although the fruit was not at all botrytized, simply very ripe, and the crop abnormally light for this vintage. Quince, caramel-tinged yellow plum, and toasted almond inform a sumptuously, seamlessly rich palate with hints of chalk and stone lending counterpoint, persisting in a generously juicy finish. This is the ultimate in vintage caress and self-indulgence, an irresistible Pinot Gris that will probably gain complexity over the coming decade or more, but at least some bottles of which should nevertheless be enjoyed already over the next several years...91" WA 05/11
