Tasted at Prince Wine Store (South Melbourne (RP AUD$120). Clear, pale lemon colour. A clean nose, med+ intensity aromas of almond, white peach and nectarine. A dry, med+ bodied white wine with a smooth velvety texture, zesty and carrying more weight than a typical chardonnay. A well-balanced wine with appropriate amount of fruity acidity. Fleshy fruit flavours of peach and honeyed spices. Nice finish. Drink now – 2017. 92/100.

The White vine Terras de Lantaño smells fresh and with a little taste of strawberries..... A really "superb· vine, but cheap.

£14.22 2011 http://www.montalbera.it/eng/ruche.php Società Agricola Montalbera S.r.l. - via Montalbera, 1 - 14030 Castagnole Monferrato (At) ITALY - montalbera@montalbera.it £14.22 2011 Quite light. Not very serious since it starts out being very fruity. But then it moves on to give that classic Piedmont depth; this is true especially after its left open for a while/day. Overall its too (in a strange way) fruity for me. Perhaps the 2 rating is a bit harsh but not by much; I think I can find much better.

This wine was made under the supervision of Harald Junglen of Weingut Ackermann. He has been making Riesling in the middle Mosel for years, and Weingut Ackermann is a family-owned winery for many generations. With Harald's guidance and expertise, wine maker Barnaby Tuttle was able to capture the true style and essence of a German Riesling. Even though the fruit was grown in clay, and not slate- this Riesling has that petrol quality on the nose and lively tart zing with the right amount of residual sugar to balance it out. This '09 Riesling was listed as NW Palate's Magazine top wines for 2010.

The sensational 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Feminessance which is 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah aged in small oak has the densest opaque color of all three cuvees. This wine has fabulous fruit concentration and comes across as a wonderful segue way between the traditional and the modern styles of Chateauneuf du Pape. Full-bodied pure and certainly a star of the vintage this wine can be drunk now or cellared for up to 12-15+ years. It is a brilliant achievement in 2009 and I kept going back to the glass for another whiff of the kirsch and black raspberry notes. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Opaque purple. Deeply pitched aromas of blackcurrant and cherry with anise and black olive nuances adding complexity. Intensely flavored and chewy in texture offering bitter cherry and dark fruit compote flavors and slow-building spiciness. Fine-grained tannins add grip to the long focused very persistent finish. This very young but promising wine will need patience. 91+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.

The old stand-by of Michel Tardieu is the 2009 Cotes du Rhone Guy Louis. This wine is about 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah all coming from three sectors - Cairanne Rasteau and the vast ocean of mostly Grenache-based vineyards known as the Plan de Dieu. Impressively endowed medium to full-bodied with ripe red and black fruits camphor barbecue spices and underbrush the wine is textured rich and very impressive. It should also drink well for 4-5 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Very fresh and racy showing lemon zest and chartreuse notes along the edges of the lemon pound cake and creamed Jonagold apple core with a bouncy finish. Drink now through 2018. -JM Wine Spectator.

Lemon gold hue is as dazzling as the nose of Meyer lemon and pulverized sea shell. A generous entry of citrus fruit Crenswhaw melon hints of tarragon and honeycomb envelope the palate. The wine is angular with a dry gravel-like finish (indicative of the soil in which the semillon and sauvignon blanc are grown). Wonderfully balanced the powdery finish keeps you guessing long after your first sip. A grand effort for a selection that could easily go toe-to-toe with many top Pessac-Leognans at double and triple the price. No need to hold this wine in your cellar this Bordeaux Blanc is ready-to-please right now. Perfect with lightly breaded Dover sole or skate pan-fried with a lemon cream sauce. Neil Mechanic.

Deep opaque ruby. Big soft and plush with ripe berry aromas of red cherry blue flowers cassis liqueur and dark chocolate on the nose leads to a quintessential Graves palate of crushed rock and pencil lead minerality. With its rich soft mouthfeel and hints of charcoal and oak on the finish this is definitely approachable now but will get fleshier with a couple of years in the bottle. Drink 2013-2020. Cory Gowan.

Very dark with strong pastis-soaked blackberry and roasted plum notes leading the way with layers of sweet spice mocha and tobacco filling in on the finish. Rather lush and perhaps a touch too roasted in style for some folks with enough just grip to keep it going. Best from 2013 through 2024. Tasted twice with consistent notes. 6 288 cases made. -JM Wine Spectator.

Winemaker's Notes:
