Bought at Costco for 6.99$. Pretty amazing value, even for a Spanish wine. Madrid region Grenache is often a bit lighter, more aromatic and mineral than other Spanish Grenaches, which can be all big, fruit-bomb spice. Though entry-level and fairly simple, this really shows the potential of Madrid Grenache. Very attractive, fruit, fresh...nice everyday wine at a great price!

A staggering value, Patrick Mata brings in 10,000 cases of the 2011 Zestos Garnacha Old Vines, which was vinified in a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks. Made from old vine (over 40 years of age), high altitude (2800 feet) Grenache, this head-pruned vineyard planted on granite soils has produced an unbelievable wine for the price. Lots of kirsch, strawberry, black currant and licorice aromas jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, richly fruity, surprisingly intense red. Drink this pure, sexy effort over the next 1–2 years.

Amazing buy! This is your new house red. Medium-bodied with bold fruit and spice, but with low acid and low tannin, giving the wine an ease of drinkability that is uncommon at this price point. Serve this with tapas, pork, tacos, salmon or pasta.

Brilliant ruby color. Assertive aromas of black raspberry, cherry and fresh flowers, with Asian spice accents building with air. Juicy and supple on the palate, offering gently sweet red and dark berry flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. Shows impressive energy and clarity on the finish, which features a zesty white pepper nuance. There’s a lot of wine here for the money.
