What to Expect

Corvina is one of the classic grapes of the Veneto region of Italy. It is usually the predominant grape in the blends used for Bardolino and Valpolicella. Corvina tends to produce lightly-colored wines with high acidity and moderate tannins featuring flavors that recall dark berries with hints of bitter almond. Corvina's thick skins lends the grape to rasining without rot. This technique is used to produce richer and dessert styled wines such as Amarone and Recioto.

Made from 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella and 10% Sangiovese This is a ruby red wine with deep, smokey, dried fruit aromas. The wine is very rich in fruit on the palate and very long lasting. One of the most exciting wines in the market. Recommended with hearty plates. Excellent when paired with truffles.

16% abv. IWC Silver Medal. The grapes are dried in the sun prior to fermentation to concentrate the juice. This produces a wonderfully strongly flavoured wine, high in alcohol and seriously smooth. Amarone is a must for any red wine lover. Italy has many big reds, Barolo, Super Tuscans, but in my opinion Amarone is one of the best, and this is one of the best Amarones available. Previous vintages have won Winespectator - 92 points 1997, 90 Points 2000 & 1990, IWC - Gold 2000, Silver 1998. Zenato.com

Wine Tasting NotesAmarone, the small jewel in our product line, is rightly considered the king of Veronas wines, produced from the best grapes of the Valpolicella Classic area, carefully selected and dried in trays. Showing deep ruby red, it releases intense aromas laden with rich spice and dried fruit; in the mouth it is a wine of superb richness and majestic flavors.
