Zeltinger Himmelreich Mosel Riesling Kabinett

Winemaker's Notes:

This single Estate wine comes from the top village in the Mosel near Wehlen. Lively crisp Riesling with peachy tones and a lingering but beautifully smooth finish. Zeltinger Himmelreich is the largest single vineyard in the town of Zeltingen. The deep weathered clay slate soil provides excellent conditions for classy, fruity and spicy wines with a distinctive bouquet. The appellation Himmelreich (heavenly domain) applies to this elevated vineyard location, although there are numerous other explanations found in folk mythology, such as the idea that the word might trace back to a term for "small hill". Vintage: 2009 Grapes: 100% Riesling Notes: The town of Zeltinger lies in the Grosslage of Münzlay on the right bank of the Mosel. The Himmelreich vineyard lies above the village in the best position. The soil is ideal - pure slate, which is exactly what the vines need. It produces the finest wines of great elegance and with a rich, spicy bouquet. Serve: Chilled at 11o to 13oC with any kind of meat or poultry or as an aperitif. Notes: Plenty of fine Riesling flavours, with some depth from the Kabinett quality. An off dry and very well balanced wine.
