What to Expect

California has long struggled with Pinot Noir. Finding the right vineyards for this most fickle of grape, one that enjoys a cool growing season yet needs warmth close to harvest to fully ripen, has proven a challenge in such a sunny state. Cooler areas eventually became identified; the Santa Rita Hills, Russian River Valley and Mendocino's Anderson valley are all prime spots for Pinot Noir in California. Winemakers Notes

This 2007 vintage of ZD Pinot Noir marks the 39th consecutive Carneros Pinot Noir produced by ZD Wines. This wine is a perfect example of the very best Carneros has to offer! Reviews

Rating: 83/100 - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 04/09 Soft and sweet, this is ripe enough to be a pinot noir Port. Its coffee liqueur flavors last, along with a brighter, peppermint note.

A nice example of a Carneros Pinot Noir. Bing cherry, rounded tannins, soft notes of vanilla and oak.Very comparable to Acacia Pinot Noir, also from Carneros.
