Zantho Zweigelt 2006
This packs in a ton of crisp red fruit on a lean lithe frame that makes it perfect for summer picnics. The flavors tend to the cranberry and wild cherry end of the spectrum with mouthwatering acidity, just a whisper of tannin and hints of pepper and dried flowers. 88ptsAdd winemaker's notes

I found this wine to have a spicy, red fruit character, typical of Zweigelt. Although this is a lighter style than some other Zweigelts I have tasted, I found it to be pleasurable to drink on its own. Although for a couple years of aging and the wine will develop a much more complex character.
Not a whole lot happening in my mouth on this wine. The nose is nice but in the mouth this falls flat. The only things that I got were a little spice and a musty flavor. This bottle may have been bad.
A nice wine, soft nose with moist pine duff aromas; fresh fruit flavors with a little bite in the aftertaste. I'd try serving this with something unorthodox: Mexican fajitas or black bean soup laced with cummin and garnished with sour cream and fresh cilantro.
