Zaccagnini Pinot Grigio 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Pale yellow with green nuances; very delicate, yet fruity bouquet, fragrant with extremely pleasant aromas. Very fresh and well balanced flavors with a crisp and elegant finish. Recommended Food: Medium to light-flavored food, especially light hors d'oeuvres, bronzino or other white fish and white meat based dishes.

When the market for those grapes died out, he decided to produce wine himself, with his cousin Concezio as the winemaker, eventually building a successful family business. The value-driven wines are produced with a signature grapevine twig wrap, which has been a key point in its successful brand recognition among consumers. The wines are produced as still reds, whites and that regional Abruzzo rosé specialty, Cerasuolo.  Read less

This wine shows tropical fruit, cut grass and minerals on the nose. On the palate, I found buttery lemon curd followed by granny smith apple with a medium body and a fresh citrus finish. The vibrant acidity of this wine carries its plush body well.
