Zaca Mesa Z Blanc 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The Grenache gave us a rich raspberry liqueur-like flavor profile, the Mourvdre blueberry, the Counoise strawberry and black pepper, the Syrah blackberry and tannins, and the Cinsaut a slight earthy/dusty character. Z Cuve is finely balanced with medium weight on the palate. Each of the five aforementioned flavor characteristics are evident in the finished wine. Firm but not clumsy, the tannins make their presence known. A food friendly wine, it is very approachable now, but will benefit from some bottle age.

Winemaker Notes - Each grape adds its own nuance: Grenache adds rich raspberry flavors; Mourv dre brings notes of blueberry; Syrah, flavors of blackberry and ripe tannins and a touch of Cinsaut s dusty berry notes. These layers of flavor enable this wine to pair with a wide variety of foods from mushroom pizza to rosemary crusted leg of lamb. You can enjoy this wine now or cellar for the next five to seven years.
