Zaca Mesa Viognier Estate Grown & Bottled 2009

Member Review by steve16046:

Pours a light and clear golden color. Aromas of citrus, melons, honeysuckle and some peaches. Starts off with a slightly sweet taste of melon and citrus. In the middle some dry peaches and honeysuckle balance the sweetness. Finishes with some slightly sweet melon taste with a slight undertone of wet stones. A very light and refreshing wine. Crisp acidity that is not overdone. Leaves a moderate lingering on the palate. A nice California Viongier.

Good wine. A little light for a Viognier, but still very good!

The nose on this Viognier is amazing. You can smell the peach, grapefruit and florals right off the bat. The taste is a little subdued compared to the smell but still a very nice wine that I enjoyed very much. Well worth the price.

This estate-bottled Viogner from Santa Barbara has aromas of honeysuckle and mandarin orange. On the palate, this wine is deliciously dry, with apricot, mineral, and peach notes. Produced with limited intervention, this Rhone Ranger has created a great viogner.
