Yves Cuilleron Condrieu 'Les Chaillets' Appellation Condrieu Sub-Region Northern Rhone Region Rhone France Viognier White Northern Rhone Region Rhone 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Les Chaillets is the local name for the steepest terraces behind Chavanay,
their vines old, needless to say, and their soil made up of something known as
Muscovite granite. The use of barrel in fermentation and elevage is, as with
the Petite Côte, for nine months, except in this instance 30% of the
barrels are new. The result is correspondingly more concentrated and longer in
the mouth, the older vines having dug deep for resources which now manifest
themselves in an almost earthy complexity.
