Yering Station Pinot Noir Yarra Valley 2007
On the nose, this wine has more presence than Little Yering with more complexity; more leather, more nuanced strawberry notes tinged with a touch of spice. There is a solid core of fruit that does not evaporate like floral water, so more of an old world charm with a bit of brightness, if muted. The color matches the finish - longer and deeper than the entry level wine. An excellent and reasonably priced introduction to Pinot Noir. Recommended. Tasted at the 2010 Vancouver INternational Wine Festival.
Mild red fruit aroma, very minerally body with bits of richer strawberry fruit coming out in the finish, which is dry with kind of a saccharine quality. Pretty typical pinot noir, light bodied.
