Let's be unpretentious about this: you're buying a bottle of Yellow Tail. You're probably going to a party or event where you don't want to *not* bring booze, or you've only got a handful of dollars for some kind of wine. It is by no means fantastic, except that for the money it is utterly not-crappy. I bought my first bottle of this after seeing the lead singer of my favorite gypsy/cabaret/canival punk band down a 1.5L during an hour-long set. I was sold. I bought a bottle and immediately was impressed with its drinkability and oakish notes. Tastes of vanilla and blackberries which suggest at a currant undertone as well. My wife and I have been picking up 1.5L at $12 a go whenever we just want to have *something* for a night in. That said, sometimes it is very touchy and some bottles have a vinegariness that doesn't completely turn me of but is still there.

This one is literally undrinkable. It's as if they tried to improve bad wine by making it sweeter with corn syrup.

It's flavor was present, but definitely watered down. it had a plum nose which was mild and pleasant, but the taste left something to be desired. Honestly, not bad for 7 bucks, but not something i would soon get again. Spend another 3-4 dollars and get something that is more full-flavored.

The Yellow Tail Cabernet Sauvignon has a touch of mint on the nose, layered over aromas of blackberries and vanilla. The palate has great length with toasted oak, ripe fruit and soft, velvety tannins.
Firm in texture, but the ripe blackberry and cherry flavors come across strongly and linger through the open-weave, slightly sweet finish. Drink now.
Supple, bursting with ripe currant and blackberry fruit, playing against spicy oak flavors on the rich-textured finish. Drink now through 2012.
