This wine has an awful taste to it. The 2005 Shiraz was a much better wine than the 2007. I would never purchase this again. Read more
Food Pairings for Yellow Tail Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
I kind of cut my wine teeth some years ago on Yellow Tail Shiraz. Jammy and simple for sure, but also fun and approachable, and we were buying it like crazy. And it kind of helped get me in to wine. So fast forward almost a decade and it has been a long time since I've had a bottle of Yellow Tail. But I had heard some good things about the Reserve Shiraz, and it had shown up on some best buy lists, so I when my grocer had it for about half price I thought what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a nice nose with lots of raspberry and cherry aromas, and on the palate it was fairly concentrated with some pepper and vanilla notes. All in all a nice Shiraz. I would put this on my crowd pleaser list, and it would be a good wine for a party or BBQ.
While this wine has some slight dark fruit in the beginning, I mostly noticed the spice from the shiraz, which honestly isn't my favorite. It was not harsh or too tannic but there is a lot that I would rather drink.

Had glass for first time last night. Really enjoyed, would recommend to any one looking for a new Rose' to try.
spicy, balanced, great with my chili
External Reviews for Yellow Tail Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Impressive spice, licorice and red berry aromas. This wine is perfectly balanced with silky tannins, accompanied by big, ripe fruit flavors.
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon's deep ruby color is followed by such varietal characteristics as red and black currants as well as plums. It is jammy on the palate, with medium body, fresh acidity, and a decent finish.
Smooth and spicy, not tasting sweet, with a floral edge to the orange-accented berry flavors that linger on the lively finish. Drink now.
An easy wine, as sweet and red as warm raspberry jam. Give it a little chill for picnics.
Soft and round, with cherry and fresh orange peel flavors, finishing slightly sweet. Drink now.
Supple, bursting with ripe currant and blackberry fruit, playing against spicy oak flavors on the rich-textured finish. Drink now through 2012.
Wine Tasting Notes A luscious pink, [yellow tail] Rose leaps from your glass with a lifted bouquet of fresh strawberries and spice. The aromas dance onto the vibrant, bright palate swirling between sweet red cherry flavors and a little Aussie sparkle. This delightful wine is spirited and playful with lively acidity, finely textured tannins and a sweet supple finish. Enjoy on its own or with your favourite dish.
