External Reviews for Yellow Tail Shiraz
The Reserve line from Yellow Tail represents solid value in its particular idiom. The 2008 Shiraz is well endowed with fruit, accenting the cassis and blueberry flavors with hints of cedary oak. While it remains essentially a simple, fruity quaff, it's richer and more textured than many Shiraz in this price range.
Fresh and generous, this juicy Shiraz displays pretty plum and berry fruit and finishes with a nice open texture. Drink now.
Ripe and aromatic. A juicy mouthful of plum and blackberry, with a bouquet of sweet spices, lingering effortlessly on the fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2012.
Lively and jazzy, this is generous with its dark berry and spice flavors. Focused and supple through the peppery finish. Drink now through 2014.
Ripe and generous, this is another good value in Yellowtail's reserve line. Boysenberry, blueberry and delicate licorice scents work the nose, followed by sweet raspberry flavors in the mouth. Oak-derived coconut aromas seem to sit on top of the wine but may integrate better after a year in bottle.
A new Reserve line is just being released. The 2002 Shiraz Reserve kicks it up several notches. Dense ruby-colored, richly fruity, medium to full-bodied, and silky-textured with smoky oak, this wine will provide abundant joy over the next 12ndash;24 months.
Wine Tasting Notes The [yellow tail] Shiraz has a deep red color with bright purple hues, characteristic of fine young wines. The [yellow tail] Shiraz is a wine that displays impressive spice, liquorice and black currant aromas. The palate is perfectly balanced with soft tannins and fine French Oak, further complemented by ripe fruit flavors.
