Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Member Review by zufrieden:

This wine is deep red and inviting in the glass; the nose evokes desiccated grapes - a bit like Amorone - although not necessarily in a negative sense - only surprising, perhaps. There is a bog-iron and cassis element as well with the usual blackberry notes. On the palate, there is the sweet, raisinated flavour presaged earlier. The palate receives a syrup-like infusion - more sugar than I would prefer, but fairly balanced (flat tannin) and ready to drink...now. A bit more complexity would be nice, but a creamy, enjoyable quaff. 86 points

Yarden:
Yarden is a brand of Kosher wines produced in the Golan Heights region of Israel. Yarden is the flagship brand, named for the Jordan River and depicting the symbol of ancient Israel, a tiled oil lamp. Yarden also includes the Golan line of value-driven, every day economy wines as well as the Gamla line and the Galil Mountain Winery line. The latter is a joint venture of Golan Heights Winery and Kibbutz Yiron.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Yarden is one of the oldest wineries in Israel. This Cabernet Sauvignon is full of spice and black fruits. A full-bodied red wine, it pairs well with foods that mirror its richness.
