Yannick Pelletier Saint Chinian l'Oiselet 2008

Member Review by Diderot:

This is a great, outspoken wine that exudes the berry flavors typical of Grenache and an almost savory quality like that found in the 2007 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe, with a kind of pleasant, funky quality on the finish. No surprise that it comes from the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Unlike some other wines from that area, it is not perfumey but it has a mellow Grenache bouquet. It is flavorful and enthusiastic, with no harsh tannins. This is not a complex wine that will continue over hours to open up and develop new dimensions, but then it only cost me $18.95 too. At that price, I will enjoy it again soon.
