What to Expect

Viognier is one of the great grapes of France's Rhone Valley. It is an extremely aromatic variety redolent of ripe peaches and wild flowers. It is frequently used to add aromatic complexity to blended wines but on its own, delivers a rich, soft wine with high alcohol and deep flavors of honey, peach, apricot and tangerine.

A real treat. So silky and smooth, light and refreshing.

Pale yellow and clear. I thought it had a nose of mangoes. The flavor was of tropical fruits, light and smooth. Not much of an aftertaste. It went well with a snack of white cheeses and crackers.

Good viognier for the price. Apricot and other light fruit.

Bright and clear, medium lemon with green hints. Pronounced aromas, savoury, bitter, citrus, yeasty. Surprisingly bitter on the palate, stalky, flat, a bit disappointing. Acceptable quality. Too high in levels of alcohol, too less fruit.

Served slightly chilled. Apricot, tropical fruit, and an almost perfume-like note on the nose. Smooth and fairly full-bodied mouthfeel. I liked the fruit notes in this wine but overall it seemed a bit too heavy-handed of an effort, maybe a result of the 13.5% ABV.
