Winemaker's Notes:

Yalumba from Down Under has a reputation of making blends of off-the-beaten-track grape varietals. This one is definately worth a try.Yalumba is Australia’s oldest family-owned winery, and is widely recognized as a custodian of the Grenache grape. The Strapper champions this oft-overlooked varietal and embodies the rich history of Rhone varietals in the Barossa Valley. In Aussie equine parlance, a “strapper” is a he or she that tends to the horse while all of the credit and luster go to the owner, trainer and jockey. The popularity of Australian Shiraz meant that for a long time Grenache was overlooked, but not anymore. This is a silken, earthy wine with fresh red fruits and succulent, fine tannins. Enjoy with lamb and beef.
